Ryan Red was born in a small town called Saint Inigoes, better known as being part of St. Mary's County, Maryland. He was raised by his mom, siblings, and members of his community. Growing up, Ryan wanted to be just like his big brother. He spent a lot of his childhood working summers at the local grocery store with him, playing Little League Baseball, and Youth Basketball. His Mom was an active member and volunteer of St. Michael's Church and School, where he would often participate in those events with her. These experiences and influences helped to mold and shape him in life. Ryan's youth basketball coach helped to transport him to and from practices while his mom worked two jobs to keep the lights on. Many members of the Raley's family treated him like their own and supported him when his big brother was in a near fatal accident. St. Michael's church and school leaders and teachers treated him like family and gave him a safe place of belonging.    

Ryan learned love and respect from his mom and those in his community. While working at the local grocery store, Ryan learned to address every person as ma'am or sir, offer up help, respect or respectfully disagree, and to always hold that front door.  With that respect and appreciation, Ryan wanted to give back. While in high school, Ryan assisted his former basketball coach; and after he turned 18 years old, Ryan volunteered for the next 15 year's coaching over 45 basketball teams between Parks and Recreation, and St. Michael's School. Ryan took off a week of leave for 5 summers straight, volunteering and running a summer youth basketball camp. He ran a biddy ball program during the school year to teach the fundamentals to those in elementary school, while his middle school players learned to be coaches and mentors.

While starting his professional career in the work force, Ryan was blessed with another mentor, his friend and non-blood related brother, Terry. Terry taught, led by example, and was always there when Ryan needed it the most. Terry supported Ryan when he lost his brother to a blood clot in 2017, and when he lost his mom to stage IV cancer in 2023. These debts Ryan knows he could never pay back but hopes to one day pay it forward.      

In his community, Ryan has supported many church and school events, his local fire department, rescue squad, American Legion Post 255, and other local businesses. He has a great appreciation for the military, law enforcement, and to all those who run into danger putting their lives on the line to save others.

Over the years, Ryan's musical journey was quietly brewing under the surface, so much so he didn't know it was happening. His upbringing, joy, sadness, love of God, Country, and Community; inspired and helped polish the songs that play in his heart.                              

Early Life and Musical Influences

Growing up, Ryan was influenced by his childhood friend who taught him the importance of writing it down. It planted a seed of song in his heart that he didn't even know was there. At the time, his late brother introduced him to Ozzy, AC/DC, and other 80s Rock bands, before stumbling across Country Music in the early 90s. Country Legends like Garth Brooks, George Strait, Alan Jackson, and Randy Travis (just to name a few), these artists introduced him to storytelling through music. This began the transitioning of just writing it down, into poems. In high school, Ryan began listening to various genres of rock music, from 3 Doors Down, Matchbox 20, John Mellencamp, John Fogerty; to the outlaws of country music.

Ryan's family and friends played a significant role in nurturing his passion of music. His late brother Jay, cousin Keith, and friends Dave and Will, often got together to listen, play, and write lyrics. This environment fostered Ryan's love for music and began writing lyrics during his late high school years.  

The Journey Begins: First Steps in Music

Ryan's journey into the music industry began in his early 20s when he started performing karaoke at local bars with his softball teams, basketball parents, family and friends, along with the support of liquid courage to help carry him through. His raw talent and sometimes charismatic stage presence quickly garnered attention of the DJ/friend Tom who gave him an opportunity to DJ on his own. In his late 20s and early 30s, the way Ryan wrote lyrics changed. The lyrics began to sing and were no longer just words to paper. Not knowing what to do, Ryan began singing and recording what he heard on his phone, as a way to get it out. During covid, Ryan's sister Julie sent him a link of producer Gene Quade, advertising his services. Ryan contacted Mr. Quade and let to what happened next.  

First Recordings

Ryan and Mr. Quade met in the fall of 2022 and began working and collaborating on a Ryan's first music project, a song called One AmeriCan. Mr. Quade was able to take the music Ryan had in his head and bring the song to life. The two of them worked together on mapping out an arrangement that helped tell the story of One AmeriCan. Mr. Quade produced and recorded the track, whiling bringing in guitar powerhouse Mike Stacey to collaborate on it. In the next 3 years, the team of 3, continued on to record 10 more tracks.

Album Release

In October 2025, Ryan release his debut album One AmeriCan, which featured his original songs ranging from his most vulnerable moments in life (Tracks: Happy Birthday, Heaven; Until We Meet Again), his community/upbringing (Small Town of Mine; Fighting 4) , resilience (One More Round; I'm Not a Superman; Piece by Peace), and his love of God and Country (One AmeriCan; God Shows Up).  

Breakthrough Moment

Prior to the release of Ryan's first album One AmeriCan, he held a private show for his family and friends. Many of them didn't know he was pursuing music, and this was the first time he shared his personal stories behind the songs. At the American Legion Post 255, Ryan discussed his journey, influences, and what he was going through in those moments that led to opening himself up for all to hear. The breakthrough was being able to share his story with those he loves. He looks forward to continuing to share these moments, and to bring joy and good times to his shows.      

Upcoming Projects

Ryan is currently working on new material and has already recorded a handful of new tracks set to release in the fall of 2026. He aims to push the boundaries of his sound while staying true to his roots. Fans can expect a mix of upbeat tracks and introspective ballads that showcase his growth as a songwriter.
